PangoBooks is a peer-to-peer marketplace, which means books are listed and sold directly by individual sellers. We do not authenticate, verify, or inspect books before or after they are listed. This applies to all books, including rare editions, signed copies, and first editions.
What this means for you as a buyer
Because PangoBooks does not verify the authenticity or condition of listings, we encourage buyers to do their own research before purchasing, especially for higher-value books.
Here are some steps you can take to shop with confidence:
Review the seller's ratings and reviews. A seller with a strong track record is a good sign. You can view a seller's reviews directly on their shop page.
Look closely at the listing photos. Sellers are encouraged to provide clear, accurate photos of the actual book. If the photos don't show enough detail, message the seller to ask for more.
Message the seller directly. You can ask for additional photos, specific edition details, copyright page information, or any other details you need before buying.
Do your own research for special or rare editions. If you're shopping for a first edition, signed copy, or collectible, we recommend cross-referencing details like printing information, publisher, and any points of issue with trusted external resources.
Read the condition description carefully. Sellers select a condition rating and can add notes. If anything seems unclear or inconsistent with the photos, reach out to the seller before purchasing.
What if the book I receive isn't as described?
If a book arrives and is significantly not as described, you may be eligible to open a return request. Reach out to our support team and we'll help sort it out.
