If you've listed any books on Pango, we are happy to have you as part of our community! As a Pango seller, you play a crucial role in creating a vibrant and trusted book marketplace. To ensure a positive experience for both you and your buyers, we've outlined some important expectations and guidelines. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these and feel free to reach out to our team with any specifics about selling on Pango.

1. Accurate and Informative Listings

  • Describe Your Item Clearly. When creating a listing for a book, be sure to choose the correct condition and disclose any possible conditional issues such as bends, breaks, writing in the margins, or anything else in your listing. We encourage you to be thorough when describing and presenting your books.

  • Include Original Photos. We require that all listings on Pango include one original photo of the actual book for sale. We encourage sellers to include additional photos from different angles and be transparent about any imperfections or wear and tear.

  • Set a Fair Price. Price your books competitively and reasonably. Consider market value and condition when determining your prices.

2. Reliable Shipping and Delivery

  • Ship Promptly. We ask that Pango sellers ship within three days of a book sale. If you are unable to ship within this timeframe, we ask that you send a message to the buyer to keep them informed on shipping expectations.

  • Packaging. Ensure that items are well-packaged to prevent damage during transit. Use appropriate materials and take care with more delicate hardcovers and fragile books. We encourage sellers to recycle shipping material when they can, but be sure that any reused material is still in good enough shape to make it to its destination intact.

  • Shipping Damage and Deliverability. If a book is lost in shipment, Pango sellers are not responsible for refunding buyers and will still receive their earnings on the sale. If we are unable to verify that an item has been shipped, earnings may be withheld.

3. Resolutions and Returns

  • Issue Reports. Pango allows buyers to report issues with books they receive within three days of receipt. Doing so will prevent earnings from being posted to the seller's account while the Pango team reviews the situation. Our team will work to find a resolution for the buyer while still paying the seller their earnings. If a seller account receives a pattern of issue reports, this may result in account suspension.

  • Returns. In the event that a buyer receives a book that is different than as presented in the original listing, we may require the seller to accept a return. We will also work to avoid returns by offering reasonable accommodation to the buyer, but this may not always be possible.

  • Incorrect Books. If a Pango seller sends the wrong book, we will either elect to refund the buyer or arrange an exchange for the correct book.

4. Prompt and Respectful Communication and Support

  • Respond Timely. Be responsive to inquiries and messages from potential buyers. Aim to answer questions and address concerns as quickly as possible.

  • Be Courteous. Treat buyers with respect and courtesy. Address any issues or disputes in a professional manner. Any instances of disrespectful or unprofessional communication may result in account suspension.

5. Additional Selling Expectations

  • Items Must Be Immediately Available. On Pango, we do not allow drop-shipping or provide tools for preorders. All books you have listed must be in your possession and available for shipment.

  • Items Must Be Ethically Acquired. Books acquired from charitable lending services such as Little Free Libraries should not be sold on Pango.

  • Transactions Must Be Completed on Pango. Any indication that sellers are attempting to move a sale off of the Pango platform to avoid paying platform fees will result in account suspension.

  • Re-listing Canceled Sales. If you need to cancel a sale as you no longer have the book or are not able to ship, you can do so from your account. We do not, however, permit sellers to then relist books at higher prices or in any other way that indicates that the cancelation was made for other reasons than what was communicated to the buyer.

  • Merchandise Allowed. You are welcome to sell book-related merchandise such as bookmarks, magazines, and comics on Pango. Unsanctioned fanfic, photocopies of books, and PDFs are not allowed on Pango.

By being a responsible seller and adhering to these expectations, you contribute to the overall success and trustworthiness of our marketplace. Any seller accounts that demonstrate activity that does not conform to the above may be barred from selling with us in the future.

Thank you for being a part of our community—please feel free to contact our team any time if you have questions about any of the above by clicking the chat icon at the bottom right of the screen or at support@pangobooks.com.
